Beyond Therapy

Sam will be playing Bruce in the UK premire tour of Christopher Durangs 'Beyond Therapy'. Beyond Therapy stars Tracy Shaw, Matt Lapinkas and Sam Lupton. It opens in Stevenage in September 2019 before touring the UK.  

Sam to play Jamie in The Last Five Years

It has been announced that Sam will be playing the role of Jamie in a new production of The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown. The musical tells the story of Jamie and Cathy, and the ups and downs of their five year relationship. Told entirely through song the show gives an intimate glimpse into both characters inner thoughts, with Cathy's story being told backwards, while Jamie's is told from their first date. 

The production is the first in house production from Bolton Albert Halls, and will be presented in the round. Tickets are available from http://www.alberthalls-bolton.co.uk/ and runs from November 21st to 23rd. 

Sam joins the workshop cast of The Dreamers

Sam has joined the workshop cast of the new musical "The Dreamers". The show tells the true story of a community dealing with the devastating tragedy that world war one has on their lives. As well as work shopping numerous characters, Sam has also recorded vocal parts for The Dreamers Album, which will be released later this year. 

Sam plays 'Guy' in My Night With Reg

Sam will be playing the role of 'Guy' a new production of My Night With Reg. The iconic play tells the story of a group of London men, living in the late 80's surrounded by the AIDS crisis. The play will be performed at Middlesbrough Theatre in June and is being produced by 'Less Is More Productions'. 

Sam joins the cast of The Ladykillers

Sam will be playing the role of Harry Robinson in the new UK tour of 'The Ladykillers'. The tour will visit Ipswich, Salisbury and Hornchurch between September and November 2017.

She soon discovers that she is not making tea for a motley band of musicians, but harbouring a hardened gang of criminals and conmen planning the great Kings Cross Train Robbery!

Graham Linehan (Father Ted, The IT Crowd) has adapted this much-loved film for the stage, mixing madcap comedy and criminal capers to hilarious effect. As his masterplan goes off the rails, and the bodies drop onto them, it begins to dawn on the Professor that, in Mrs Wilberforce and General Gordon, her extraordinary featherless parrot, he may have finally met his match.

Sam directs 'Terrorism' at Birmingham's Blue Orange Theatre

This June Sam is directing a revival of the Presnyakov Borthers critical hit play 'Terrorism' at Birmingham's Blue Orange Theatre. First produced at the Moscow Arts Theatre in November 2002, Terrorism was a critical smash at London’s Royal Court in 2003 and has since been performed all over the world! A true gem of contemporary Russian theatre.

‘Terrorism’ explores the constant state of fear we are all subjected to, by the media, our neighbours, friends, and ourselves.

Sam performs with Rachel Tucker

On Monday 29th May Sam will be performing alongside fellow Wicked start Rachel Tucker, as a guest performer on her UK tour. Sam will be performing at the event at Durham's Gala Theatre. Sam to appear in 'Spring & Port Wine'

Sam will be appearing in a new production of Bill Naughton's play 'Spring & Port Wine'. The new version is an in house production at Oldham Coliseum theatre. Directed by Chris Honer, the play will run at Oldham Coliseum from 13th to 29th April 2017. Sam plays Wilfred, the youngest of the Crompton family. The Neapolitan Novels

Sam will be playing Nino Sarratore in Pier Productions adaptations of The Neapolitan Novels for BBC Radio. The first two episodes are adapted from the the novel 'My Brilliant Friend', with episodes 3 & 4 being adapted from 'The Story Of A New Name'. The dramas also star Monica Dolan (W1A, Call the midwife) and Anastasia Hille (The Missing, Humans)

The novels have been adapted by Timberlake Wertenbaker, directed by Celia De Wolfe and are a Pier Production for BBC Radio 4.

Little Shop Of Horrors

It has bee announced that Sam will be playing the iconic role of Seymour Krelbourn in the new UK tour of 'Little Shop Of Horrors' for SELL A DOOR Theatre company. Little Shop of Horrors tours the UK until the end of the year. Sam will be playing alongside Stephanie Clift (Audrey), Paul Kissaun (Mushnick) and Rhydian Roberts (Orin).

Starting Here, Starting Now

It has been announced that Sam will be staring in 'Starting Here, Starting Now' at The Pheasantry from April 18th-20th. Sam will be staring alongside Carolyn Maitland and Kayleigh McKnight. Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Grammy Award nominated revue, this brand new production of Maltby & Shire's Starting Here, Starting Now explores the catalogue of emotions in romantic relationships from first kiss, to heartbreaking separation with a truly exhilarating sense of emotional urgency and spontaneity. First produced at Manhattan Theatre Club in 1976, Starting Here, Starting Now opened Off-Broadway in 1977, premièred in London in 1984 and was revised in 1993. Barbara Streisand made several songs from Starting Here, Starting Now famous, including 'Autumn', 'What About Today?' and 'Starting Here, Starting Now'.Starting Here, Starting Now is produced by Neil Eckersley with musical direction by Kris Rawlinson. West End Switched Off & Sunday In The Arts

It's gigs galore this month. On March 20th Sam will be performing in the 3rd anual West End Switched Off at the St James Theatre. Reprising the much loved format of bringing together classic and unknown musical theatre songs in new stripped back, acoustic arrangements, the evening promises to leave you crying out for more. Sam will be performing Emma Hatton (Wicked), Evelyn Hoskins (Spring Awakening, Carrie) and Jodie Steele (War Of The Worlds). 

Then, of March 27th Sam will once again be appearing at 'Sunday In the Arts' as a guest star alongside Sophie Linder-Lee and Daniel Hope. All of whom appeared in Wicked together. The evening will be a collection of original material and hilarious comedy songs. Tickets are available here

Sam Co-directs 'How To Curse' at Etcetera

Sam will be Co-directing a revival of 'How To Curse' by Ian McHugh at Camdens Etcetera Theatre from February 2nd-6th 2016. Sam will be directing alongside Paul Harnett. It is produced by Boundless Drop Theatre. For tickets, Click HERE

Sam consults for the puppets of 'Bette Midler & Me'

Sam is consulting on a brand new show hitting this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Sue Kelvin, previously Madame Morrible in Wicked, is taking her brand new show 'Bette Midler and Me' above the border. Sam is consulting on a hilarious finale to the show, featuring a live, unadulterated puppet version of Bette's cult film 'Beaches'. The show is playing the Gilded Baloon at this years Edinburgh Fringe. The show will then be embarking on a UK Tour, including 'Upstairs At The GateHouse' in Highgate, London from September 16th to 27th.

Sam performs in 'West End Switched Off'

Sam has been invited to perform at the 2nd 'West End Switched Off', at The St James Studio Theatre in Victoria, London. Sam will be performing three popular musical theatre songs like you have never heard them before. Sam joins a host of West End talent including Rob Houchen (Les Misreables), Sophie Linder-Lee (Wicked) and Rebecca Trehearn (City Of Angles/Ghost)

 

Reprising the inimitable format of bringing together classic and unknown musical theatre songs in new stripped back, acoustic arrangements, the second event promises to leave you crying out for more. The concert series is running in parallel to the on-going series of recordings, which began with the first West End Switched Off, Volume 1 album released last year. West End Switched Off, Volume 2 is currently in the works.

Sam joins 'Sunday In The Arts'

On Sunday 26th April Sam will be performing at 'Sunday In The Arts', a new Sunday night cabaret at The Arts Theatre, Leicester Square. 

Sam is joining hosts Anthony Williamson and Emma Ralston along with Steph Parry Mark Anderson, Rebecca Craven and Emma Kingston for an evening of musical theatre and comedy. Sam acts as 'Puppet Coach' to new tour of Avenue Q

Sam will be acting as the puppet coach and advisor on the new UK tour of Avenue Q, produced by SellADoor Theatre Company. The show has a new look, new cast, new puppets and will be touring the UK from April 2014. Sam is training the brand new cast in the specialist skills needed to perform the puppety characters of Avenue Q, alongside Nigel Plaskitt. Sam played the roles of 'Princeton' and 'Rod' in the award winning Cameron Mackintosh production of the show, which toured the UK in 2012. "National Velvet on BBC Radio 4"

Sam has just finished recording a new dramatisation of "National Velvet" for BBC Radio 4. Sam will be playing a number of roles alongside Allison Steadman, John Sessions and Charity Wakefield. "National Velvet" will be aired on BBC Radio 4 on Christmas Day and Boxing Day 2013. "National Velvet" is directed by Melanie Harris and is a "Spark Lab" production for BBC Radio 4. 

Sam to perform in Wicked throughout 2014

Sam will be staying in Wicked throughout 2014. As a new cast joins the show, Sam will be joined by international "Wicked" sensation Willemijn Verkaik, who joins the show as Elphaba. Also joining the cast are Savanah Stevenson (Glinda), Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible), Sam Kelly (The Wizard), Paul Clarkson (Dr Dillamond) and Jeremy Taylor (Fiyero). Bobby Cronin's "The Concrete Jungle"

On March 23rd Sam performed at the UK album launch of Bobby Cronins "The Concrete Jungle". Also performing were west end performers Danielle Hope, Rebecca Trehearne, Michael Pickering, Cynthia Erivo, Andy Coxon and Craig Mather. The concert was a sell out at the new St James' theatre studio in the west end. "The Concrete Jungle" is available to purchase on ITunes. The album launch was produced by IlliaDebuts.

Sam performs at "Kooman & Diamond" UK debut

On December 2nd Sam performed at "Out Of Our Heads - The Music of Kooman & Diamond" produced by IlliaDebuts. Sam performed "I Will Be Me" & "The Temp & the Receptionist" alonside fellow Wicked cast members Chloe Hart and Oliver Brennin. Other performes at the event include Jonathan Williams, Matthew Barrow, Carley Stenson and Jeremy Legatt. 

Sam joins "Wicked!" as Boq

It has been announced that Sam is joining the west end cast of "Wicked!" from October 29th this year. Wicked tells the untold story of the witches of OZ, made famous by the 1939 film and the books "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by Frank L Baum. Wicked has been running in London since 2006, and has seen a whole host of stars perform in the show. Sam will be performing along side west end superstar Louise Dearman who takes on the role of Elphaba. Also joining the cast is Ben Freeman (Emmerdale, Legally Blonde) Katie Rowley jones (Wicked, Sister Act, Whistle Down the Wind) and Louise Plowright (Mamma Mia!). Gina Beck will remain in her role as Glinda. Sam begins performances on October 29th 2012.
